The Most Frequently Asked iPad Question…

Lately, the question I get asked most frequently has to do with my
iPad. Everyone seems to want to know, “Do you love it?” The answer,
in a nutshell, is yes. Resoundingly, yes. In fact, I’m writing this
blog post on it. It’s been 3 days since I opened my laptop, and every
time I write an email on my phone, I feel like I’m being punished for
something.

Now, to be fair, I’m a techno-nut. Not everyone will need an iPad,
but if you were one of the people that hopped on the “Kindle”
band-wagon, you’re going to want one because what the iPad does
extraordinarily well is consume media. Since I’ve had it I’ve read
five novels, devoured up to six news media publications a day, and
even had time for some “Family Guy” episodes. The iPad is a media
consumption monster. If you love to browse the web, keep up on
Facebook, Twitter etc, download movies, or read for pleasure, you’ll
love it.

If you do take the plunge, here are some fantastic apps and things you
can with your new toy.

1. Kindle – Amazon.com has created a tremendous application to go with
their eBook store. The Kindle application gives you full access to
anything on the Amazon Kindle Store and sync’s your purchases between
your various devices automatically.

2. Associated Press – If you’re like me and can’t fathom cutting down
trees in order to write down a day’s history, you’ll love the
Associated Press app. Gather news from multiple categories and from
around the world instantly with images and video.

3. Epicurious – Marvelous full colour and nutrition recipes! User
and publisher submitted recipes for just about any taste preference.

4. AirVideo – Stream movies you’ve downloaded to your PC or Mac
wirelessly, even when you’re away from home.

5. Evernote – Keep all your notes sync’d between your PC / Mac /
iPhone and iPad seamlessly!

6. Adobe Ideas – A full on photo editor / sketch pad to keep your
right brain happy.

But be prepared. If on May 28th you rush out to your local retailer
to get your hands on this marvelous new category of toy, be prepared
for people to stop you, and ask “Do you love it?”
